Day 2

i'll be honest with you.... today was kinda wack. i feel like all the t-mobile planned stuff got in the way of EVERYTHING i wanted to do. on top of that, i have to wear this tag everywhere i go that states im the winner!!!!!!!!!!!! i immediately feel embarassed, and the embarassment transfer for anyone who sees me wearing this. But there's a pineapple on there, righhhhhhht?

woke up, ate breakfast. pigged the fuck out in front of the vice president when i didnt even realize she was standing right there. hahaha fuck it! Once i finished I HAD to take pictures with the ceo, vice prez, and a glass pineapple, but they couldn't take my picture until an hour after I was ready to go venture in hawaii. My department, retail sales, were last to take pictures or something.

went, got a rental car situated... met up with greg and katie for my free lunch before we embarked on our day. We went to this spot thats pretty much co-joined with the hotel. t-mobile pays $40 for anything at these 4 restaurants, as long as its between 11-2pm. FOR THE WHOLE WEEK!

here's what i had:
- maui brewing co's Big Swell IPA, x2... im not really big into ale's, but goddamn did this taste sooooo good. It went really well with my food. Of course being the super duper beer conisseur that I am, I planned that.. < / sarcasm > <> < / sorta >

pork lettuce wraps. Although very good, they picked the worst part of the lettuce to use as a wrap.. i couldnt wrap or keep any of the meat inside (thats what she said). and Fried mahi mahi fish tacos.

despite my difficulty with keeping the meat inside (thats what HE said), lunch was spectacular. The beer accented the food really fucking well too! Would! again and again!

here's a picture of Gregory and Katie

here's a picture of Gregsoph and myself

a koi pond lined the restaurant. love it.

here was my unfortunate rental car selection. a fucking hhr. the compact hearse is what i like to refer to it as, and in bright red!

we went 5 minutes up the road to shop, and thats all the driving we did. HUUUUUUUGE waste of $65 bucks, but whatever. i had fun hanging with Greg and his gal.. plus i got me some new shades. Von Zippers at that. (brief little history about sunglasses and i... once upon a time i would only buy VZ's, loved them. loved their shades, and loved what they were as a company. thought it was rad and never switched. one day being the consumer whore that i am, i found some electrics that had swarovski crystals as the electric sign, charged it! I was pretty bummed i stabbed my favorite sunglasses company in the back, but i wanted bling. im totally gay, i know. no offense to any readers... yes homo if it counts. those got stolen, or i thought at the time. then i stabbed VZ in the back twice about 2 years ago and got some tortoise shell Ray-Ban Wafers. Definitely my favorite and most comfortable pair of shades.) i ended up finding the electrics a week later. i guess im now back to VZ, and i now have variety. Thanks T-mobile and your $200 prepaid visa.

Oh yeah, probably the only reason i went with these shades, besides the fact that they were free and i LOVE annoyingly ugly shades, is because "i luv i jah." (bad brains reference ftw?) simple as that. i cannot believe ANYTHING thats got the beautiful red, yellow, and green pattern. I'm a sucker.

***warning you're about to read something thats going to make me look like a total fucking tool***

walking down the mall there was a HIC (Hawaiian Island Creations) store and outlet. The outlet was separate and it held all the stuff on sale. i got a billabong basketball jersey. it was only $24 bucks. It has rasta colors on the neck and sleeves. Being a sucker for basketball jerseys, especially Celtic's and band jerseys, i couldnt resist AT ALL! c'mon! $24 bucks! what.would.jah.do?

here's a little depressing story about my hawaiian trip, and why it is/will/ '& or' will most likely suck. Before i left, I got my bodyboard from the old house. Due to the sea salt or something, the bag would not open at the zippers! at all. I tried everything. WD40, prying open, pissing on it..... NOTHING! so i was like fuck it, i need to check if my bodyboard is atleast ok, and it doesn't have heat bubbles. I cut the bag open : ( Luckily everything was ok with the board, but now i had NO WAY to take the board with me or put it in my luggage. This bummed me out, HARD!

anyways, i went to a surf shop that was also a renting place. Pretty much knowing they would most likely have the shittiest, cheapest, most water logged 'Boogie-Boards' available for rent. To no suprise, that was the case. So i checked out another surf shop, and decided to just buy a new fucking board. Fuck it! baller. syke! t-mobile would help pay for that as well. Unfortunately i found a board but it wasnt my size. Talked to one of the workers and he let me know about The Foam Company. He also told me about all the local breaks i should check out if im surfing the west end of maui... That dood ruled. Anyways, The Foam Co. is pretty much Maui's premier bodyboarding shop. I got WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYY stoked on this, and immediately i was like "lets go!" But it was 50 min's away and near the airport. It was already 4:30 and our dinner was at 6pm. Knowing what i know now, i would've gone without any hesitation and just showed up late to our dinner. But instead i played it safe, and thought our dinner was our awards ceremony. So i decided i'd wake up early, get there when they open (which is 9am), and get back to drop off my rental car at its due-back-time of 10am. Got back to my hotel room, read my plan-o-gram, and realized my kayaking/snorkle trip (which i don't want to do AT ALL, and only chose it because it was a medium for myself and the other person that was suppose to go. I wanted to do Zipline jungle adventure and shit) is at 7-FUCKING-A.M.!!!!!! T-Mobile plans, you are crushing anything and everything i hoped for in hawaii!

***ALL I WANT TO DO WHILE IN HAWAII IS SURF, MEET UP WITH THE BIGGEST SAMOAN, EAT ALL OF THEIR AWESOME FOOD, AND SMOKE SOME LOCAL HOME GROWN*** seriously! God/T-Mobile, you hate me!

we got back. i walked around. took a couple photos (check the end of post for those.) took a shower, and showed up late to the dinner. they didnt even sit two people from the same market, greg and i, at the same table. i was with some doods who took t-mobile way too seriously! But there was a girl who sat at our table named Caroleena (sp? thats how it was pronounced), whom was from brooklyn and i friended with. She was actually by herself, no guest, just like myself. We lol'd at fact that we didnt think there was anyone else here that were by themselves. She said her friend who she was bringing, had a falling out, and it was too late to re-register anyone else. I replied with, "same exact situation." We then snickered about how fucking lame everyone at our table was, and how we're completey over talking about work.

heres a pic of the dinner reception

here's a pic of greg and i with Bobby D, the CEO of t-mobile, himself.

heres a pic of Sue Nokes, Vice Prez of sales, with the two of us.

a little something about Sue Nokes... SHE'S SCARY! YET SHE FUCKING RULES... when i went to take my "required" picture with her, Bobby D, and THE glass pineapple earlier, we talked about the phillies. Awesome! Sue Nokes, if you find this blog, i think you rule! Hard! Seriously, although she's very serious about getting the retail back in line (which she's succesfully done bc we got the JD & Powers award back after losing it for the first time in 7 years), this lady has soooo many +qualities about her. Among other things, She follows the Tennessee ladies basketball team around, and will house and feed them at her own personal palace.

heres some fire spinning doods. pics are way shitty, but i was way far back.

I think it rules, but i cant help to think what locals/traditionalists think of these type of guys. I feel like they might think these doods are "sell outs" and ruining tribal tradition by going with some huuuge corp/ hotel event. Think about it! a band is no longer "COOL" when they sign with a big label... either way it was pretty neat..................... until i found out all the "ughhhhhh"-s and "ahhhhhhhh"-s grunting that i thought were the doods just mic'd, were actually a recording. i found this out when the guy doing it by himself left the stage and the speakers still played the music/grunts. haha, i guess you doods are fucking sell outs, i changed my mind.

here's a video from the point and shoot digi cam

it started to rain on our dinner, and i decided to go upstairs and retire the night to these two friends.

***here's the rest of the pics.***

the backside, and around some bushes beach view of the sheraton.

I had to take a picture of this. Scenic view up ahead? no waiz???!!!!!

the view that the sign spoke of.... not so bad. island in the sun, amiryt?

a view of the section of the hotel thats built into the mountain... probably the coolest thing about the hotel.

if you look click the pic above, it will load a bigger picture. if you look closely to the left theres a section where people can jump off the tiki torched rock. Its called black rock or something. Pretty cool. Im def trying to do that before i leave.

greg and katie in the sunset.

1. I tried to do the whole rule of thirds thing, i failed
2. youre reading this and thinking, "wow this dood goes to hawaii and complains about everything. Then he's sad enough to take pictures of other couples in scenic views when it should be him, yet he didnt take anyone else with him. what a fucking loser" Trust me when i say this..... i think that's the best part! i lol'd hard on the inside while taking the picture because of so.

off to bed...

to be continued.........

ps. if YOU'RE reading this..... wtf is up? im lost and confused. imy

The Trip to Hawaii

The last post was me beginning my journey from Norfolk to Atlanta for the connecting flight to Honolulu.

Im here to continue...

some oj, flight peanuts, and wu-tang makes everything better. (camera phone suckness alert!)

Oh and this....

This was the lady sitting next to me, she was just as enthused about being on her phone before, during, and after the flight as me. Unfortunately she was rocking a Pink Samsung Instinct. Thanks for the pic though! That was nice of you! Sorry for the lack of quality, this was from the blackberry

Landed in Atlanta, which I found out happens to be in the 'Top 3 busiest airports in the world' list, and sat in our plane for an hour waiting to park and de-board. This left me with 20 minutes to get on my next plane. Luckily they had a subway, vroo00000oommmmmm!

got on my flight, and started the 10-or-so-hour trip. I got seated next to a military dood. At first I was kinda worried about him, because he seemed super serious, but he turned out to be pretty awesome. Suprisingly, I slept most of the trip... It took us another hour or so to take off due to the traffic, I fell asleep. Tried to watch "Breakin" on my laptop, fell asleep. Tried to watch the on-board flight movie, "The Express" (which was really good and I almost cried), fell asleep. Tried to read some of Radio Silence, fell asleep on the first page. Still an awesome book!

heres some flight food for thought...

Early Lunch: Baked chicken with a cream sauce, broccoli and rice, a side salad with ranch, and a brownie. It was fucking good
Late Lunch: Smoked turkey and provolone w/ lettuce and tomato on a herb encrusted ciabatta bun. Mesquite BBQ kettle chips and Mini milano cookies <3 This aswell was fucking good.

the military dood kept sleeping with the blanket over his head like so... it made me kinda scared. not scarier than what i look like in this pic though

there was a small family (a lady and her two sons the were probably 4 and 5) in the middle row next to us, and at one point when he was sleeping they were pillow fighting. The mom was sleeping face down in the middle of the two, head on tray. I just see a pillow get chucked and it came flying our way. It hit the military dood while he was sleeping like above, and landed behind his head. The little boys just looked at me scared, then we all started giggling. the military guy never woke up. 10 hours (i think), 8 or so which i was asleep, tons of music, and 1 bathroom break later, our flight venture started to come to an end.... stoked i was

heres a pic about 30 mins before the landing, you can see one of the neighboring islands

heres a little time lapse video of us landing in honolulu. yeah i know, having electronics on at this point is illegal... punk rawkkkkkkk amiryt?

here's the military dood and I once we made it. Thanks again man! you're awesome

finally got off the plane, and the first thing i did was rush to the bathroom.. kinda bummed though because ladies get lei'd when they go to their bathrooms.

there was an hour wait for my flight from Honolulu to Maui, so i went outside to enjoy some fresh air. I promise i was the only person in Hawaii with a beanie on. I know it sounds/looks stupid, but it was cold in both Virginia and Georgia, and my hair was already punished.

look at these neat little pigeons. they had like a speckled band on the back of their necks

they were inside the airport as well, one of them had a stub for a foot.

finally got on my plane. Sat next to a local lady with her cute ass baby. the baby was even cuter bc she had her right arm in a cast. I thought that was pretty gnarly, and the fact she kept playing with me. next to us were these two younger teenage boys from chicago. they were cool. Our flight stewardess was pretty attractive and when they passed out our beverage, the little dood's looked at me, looked at her butt, gave me the nod, and then started laughing. I got weak as fuck! They were stoked on her, and i was stoked on the new love in my life, Guava juice. So good!

heres a pic of us approaching maui.

here's the local chick and her baby.. thanks for the awesome picture, its def one of my favorites so far.

got in the shuttle bus that was picking up t-mobile people, and i definitely felt awkward as fuck. Nobody talked to me at all during the whole 45 minute drive. Thats cool though bc i was scoping out spots and breaks to check out before i left on sunday.

i was texting maybe 8 different people since honolulu and everyone of them asked the same exact question... "you get Lei'd yet? lolz!" finally arrived to the hotel, and yes i did... i was sweaty too, and it was by a guy : (

just wanted to get to my room to take off my chrome bag filled with tooooo much shit. here's what i opened the door to.

my balcony view, which i left the door open to alllll night while i slept

and here's me being fat, sweaty, greasy, sloppy, and acting a damn fool.

took a shower, went downstairs to eat. met up with greg jones, from the newport news store, and his girl and just chatted. We sat with a couple from miami. they were cool, i was 5th wheel. haha. i felt awkward because i kept catching myself saying the word "fuck." Most likely because we started talking T-mobile. GRRRRRRrrrr!!!!11!!!!1!

everyone called it an early night. I went upstairs to try and get on this thing... Ended up calling tech support to fix my interwebz. ahaha

Aloha Bitches!

Hiding ugly holes

And wires in walls, with a team flag. Let's go you whiteharts!!!!!!!!!

Just in case you're wondering, Thursday's "Full Collapse" is still one of the best records ever written. Just sayin...

ending the week......(writings and a playlist)

This week was one of the worst weeks ever for me : ( If you refer to three posts below, those are about the only things that kept me sane. My grandmother in Portugal is probably about to die, people aren't who you thought they were, my friends are struggling with things I cant help them with, and all of this combined has been eating the fuck out of me.

Luckily Im off this weekend, and Im going to do the things that are detrimental to my happiness.

For starters.... getting my mattress so that I can not die of back pain...(back pain isn't actually going to kill me. It would be the gun to the head due to the restless sleep I've been getting for the last two weeks)

also:
- Sushi with roomates and Lauren. Our BFF hangage has been put on a stand still since the end of ABDC.
- blackberry messenger all day and night
- bike ride with Twelvie tomorrow.
- Bon fire later that night with Twelvie.
- Tuesday (i think, i should probably know) i leave for hawaii for 6 days.
-------For those who dont know... My job, T-Mobile, awarded me with their Peak Achievement Award. Pretty HUGE deal. This award means they fly you out to Maui for 6 days at some fancy hotel, you go to a couple ceremony dinners, then they pay for all of your food and drinks and a couple activities. I on the other hand will be trying to see if i can rent a car (hopefully that being 25 thing doesnt kill my plans) and driving around the island, looking for sweet shit to do. I'll probably try to go surfing as much as possible, then gain a huge "ice" addiction so that i can meet these guys, primarily the son with the the jordan tattoo...

and to end my bragging about hawaii, ill show you a pic of where i'll be staying

too bad i'll be missing United Blood huh?

*moving on back to that list*
- furniture!

*moving on again to the second part of my blog*

this weeks playlist is split in half.

10 songs on the lighter side, and 10 on the harder.

***disclaimer*** when you download the songs of course, they wont be in order... some day i'll learn how to do that for you, but until then, move them around in your playlist to this order. i dont know why i'm even typing this, youre not going to download this.

Thanks Thomas...

...for the wifi adapter for my xbox.

Mine broke, and tom supplied a new one for me. Netflix "watch instantly" has all the seasons of the office. Now I'm never going to leave my room.

And I tested out the movie night theory with netflix. It worked. Sup?

I don't have the energy

To focus on the negatives, but instead, I'd like to focus on the positives.

(+):

- that guy, and that picture above.
- oelschlagerrr
- spaghetti
- an awesome roomate
- my family
- twelvie
- "that's what she said"
- that creed shreds video

My life has been doing the complete 180 thing every single day, and a lot of it lately has been negative. These are the things that are constant. These are the things I want to stay, for a loooooooong time.
